austrailias native horse breedsMost horses imported to Australia were from England and Canada.The Thourobred part-breed and the qurter horse were imported for the use of herding cattle and sheep. Later infutions of native English pony,clydesdale,cleaveland bay,andalusian and some Arab blood were used to improve the outcosses height,tenperment and verstality, resulting in the ausrtalian stock horse or "waler" as it is sometimes called. Their is also a feral breed called brumby which is some of the quarter horse and Arabs escaped and formed what like the mustang is to the us is brumby to Australia.

The brubys average heiht is 14-15hh

The "waler" is an average of 15.2-17hh
