Why Didi Mexico want Americans to settle in Texas?

It has a lot to do with the whitening of Mexico. Mexico like many Latin American wanted white Europeans to bring civilization to a backward brown and black world. Some countries paid for passage for white Europeans and stopped all Immigration from African countries. Brazil is the best example. Just look it up. The Mexican government wanted the white Europeans who immigrated to Texas to do two things: Learn spanish and be Catholic. It just did not work. Soon the white Europeans began to treat Mexicans like second class citizens. The Mexican saw that they were losing control then tried to expel them. As you know the rest of the history, it did not work.
