It isn't. Although the western plateau is largely desert and semi-arid, this does not mean it is rainless.

The east coast of Australia receives more rain than the west because the eastfaces the Pacific Ocean, which has warmer sea temperatures than the Indian ocean in the west. The simplest explanation here is that rain forms through condensation which occurs when warm air meets cooler air. Cold ocean currents off the western coast mean less rainfall is brought to the region, because there is less variation in sea and air temperatures (except in the northwest, which is prime Cyclone territory in summer).

What animals live in Australia's Western Plateau?

i know that the Bush turkey lives there. I know it's really hard to find information on the Western Plateau! So if you want to find some more animals, just search up Uluru on wikipedia, and use those animals, because Uluru is in the Western Plateau so obviously any animal in Uluru will live in the Western Plateau. Are you doing this for a school assignment? Because so am I, for geography! Good luck if you are :)
