In the South, there is infertile soil, only subsistence farming (farming to survive not to make money), poor education, only primary jobs (farming), very mountainous (has a high relief, the Apennines travel all the way down Italy), shorter life expectancy, poor medical care, hot, dry climate and poor transportation links with the rest of Europe.
In the North, there are secondary jobs (factories) and tertiary jobs (providing a service: doctor, teacher, nurse, fireman, policeman), tourism (Alps (skiing)), flat land, good irrigation (water) systems (River Po), more opportunities and the Industrial Triangle (Milan (fashion central), Turin (own Fiat) and Genoa (major port)).
People move for better lives, more job opportunities, more leisure activities, more wealth, steadier, more pleasurable climate and rainfall, more relaxed (not having to slave away just to survive), decent education, worthwhile job and industrial towns and cities.
However, some Northern Italians can get annoyed with Southern Italians, if they think they are using up all their jobs, educations, water supplies, food, money, housing and transportation.
Thanks, I basically just copied out my geography test for this :]
i will rather live in north Italy then south. this is because the north is richer and it has good transport and it is more better than south!
You would find the Apennine Mountains in Italy. They span the length of the Italian peninsula, running approximately 1,200 km from north to south.
Rome, the capital of Italy, would be farthest north.
Due north.
I would describe people in Italy as "nice".
they would be found in south western u.s
West North South East
It would be south of North Carolina. The points of that area of mystery are Miami, Florida, San Juan, Puerto Rico and Bermuda.
its like people say opposites attract. EX: north and south would attract, but if you had north and north together they would repel against each other. so it would be the charges attract one to one....
south is the opposite way of north so south would be directly behind you
People from Lucania in the south of Italy would name their son "Luke" to indicate his place of birth.
The continent of Europe lies due north of Italy and Greece. Italy and Greece are actually part of that rather large continent. The continent due north of Italy and Greece is Africa
