The thirty o six was an American round, so it seems unlikely that a Belgian arms company would use this round in a weapon. You are correct. The 30.06 ( .30 for 1906) was the standard round adopted by the U.S.A. prior to WW1, at that time for the Remington bolt action rifle. In turn, it was used for the Browning Automatic Rifle, BAR (SQUAD MACHINE-GUN), the Browning general purpose machine-gun and the Garand M1 auto-loading rifle and carbine, which were produced in millions during WW2, Korea and Vietnam. Garand produced a sniper kit to modify the basic rifle, including a cheek-pad and a special harness and 'scope sight. At the time of the Normandy Invasion in June 1944, Belgium was still occupied by the Germans, and it was some months later they were liberated. I cannot imagine that there would be any way in which F.N. could have been recruited to produce such a weapon in ruined factories. John MacMillan.
Most FN production records from WW 2 and earlier were lost during the war.
What is the question and what model are you asking about?
FN FAL stands for Fabrique Nationale Fusil Automatique Léger (French for light automatic rifle). It is a Belgian battle rifle developed during the Cold War.
The Fabrique Nationale Model 22 pistol typically features several German markings, particularly when produced during the German occupation of Belgium in World War II. These may include the "WaA" (Waffenamt) acceptance stamp, indicating military acceptance, along with the manufacturer's code and possibly a serial number. Additionally, some models might have "FN" markings and the year of manufacture. However, specific markings can vary based on the production batch and the period of manufacture.
