Like all other indigenous people, the American Indians are still one of the most marginalized people on earth. their land was taken away from them and so they have to adapt to mainstream culture because it is in almost all ways inevitable and it their existence to some degree depends on how the mainstream culture works (only those who are not living their traditional way of life). so they have been brutally assimilated in the mainstream culture and have to live with it all their lives now...like the some of the Australian aborigines and most indigenous people in south east Asia.
Native Americans influence lives today in many ways, including language, agriculture and governmental structures.
The American Indians now are more correctly called, "American aboriginals" or "American natives".
There were many native American tribes that lived in Kentucky. A few of the tribes were the Cherokee, Yuchi, and Shawnee.
Today there are over 2 million Native Americans with about 800,000 living on reservations and 1.2 million residing in urban areas throughout America. There are approximately 300 Federal Indian reservations and 500 federally recognized tribes in the U.S. An Indian reservation is an area of land reserved for Native American use. The term tribe has had numerous meanings over the years, and today is considered by many to refer to a distinct group within the Native American culture. (not all tribes are federally recognized) source: http://www.merceronline.com/Native/native10.htm i think that everyone has native American in them but there is still alot of them out there what I've read something like 4.3 million still live true native American idk i got to read more about them<(^>^)>

Columbus called the Native Americans Indians, because he thought he was in India when he arrived in America. The name stuck, and we still call them Indians today.
well, you can say either one. i prefer saying native americans, but i also say american indians. The reason why most americans today call them just plain indians is because christipher columbus thought he had sailed to india.
Some of us still smoke tobacco.
A Native American's way of life was tied directly to his environment, both spiritually as well as physically. Native American's attempted to always strike a balance to preserve nature in the way it was with as little impact as possible. Many Native American's today attempt to continue this tradition.
This question depends on 'which' Indians you mean. North American Indians? India Indians? etc. Native American's travel by: Air, ground and water (all forms of transportation). Indian's (from India) travel by: Air, ground and water (all forms of transportation).
