As of 7/7/9 and sampled over the last 2 years the Xbox 360 has moved more units of games then any other platform in that time frame. Today it would appear that the PS2 has sold more total units by volume since it's creation then any other platform but that will likely end by my best estimate by 2011 when the XBOX 360 will exceed it's lifetime number of units. BUT, to be technically accurate the home PC has dwarfed console game sales but that is an apples to Oranges comparison. As of 2009 all console sales combined are now competing with PC game sales and exceeding same title sales in many cases. Fallout 3 if I remember correctly sold more copies for the 360 and PS3 then the PC version. Piracy is often cited as a reason for the disparity.
