Us and japan, World War 2 was fought between the Axis (Germany, Austria, Italy and Japan) on the one hand, and the Allies, comprising Britain, all the British Commonwealth countries such as Canada, India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Rhodesia, Jamaica, etc, later joined by the United States, the Soviet Union, Brazil and one or two other South American countries on the other. There were also those countries such as Poland, France, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Greece and Yugoslavia that fought against Germany and/or Italy and although overwhelmed, fought guerrilla wars against the occupying power. The same applied to those countries such as China, part of which was occupied by the Japanese, and Korea, Indochina (Vietnam), Burma, Malaya, and Indonesia. I've probably left out a few countries, but these were the main contenders.
