Picasa - this is a program Google has made for the average person to easily edit images with a click of a button. This takes very little learning to do although it cannot do as much as GIMP. Although you must download it, this can also organize photos on your computer for you. It can also find faces for you to tag. This is very good for organizing photos. GIMP - a FREE open source photo editing software just like Photoshop. This will take a little bit more time to edit photos. It will also take more time to learn how to use although there are a lot more tutorials for it now than before. This will be more time consuming but the picture will be more likely to turn out better. I have made a website with tutorials and pictures I have made. Check it out: thegimpking.blogspot.com
Photoshop is more CPU intensive than GPU intensive. This means that the performance of Photoshop is more dependent on the power and speed of the computer's central processing unit (CPU) rather than the graphics processing unit (GPU).
The vibrance tool in Photoshop increases the intensity of colors in an image without oversaturating them. It enhances the muted colors more than the already vibrant ones, resulting in a more balanced and natural look.
dull green....This is really an opinion question. You can't prove one color is better or worse than another; someone might think differently. You may dislike yellow, but that may be someone else's favorite color. I personally do not like colors that look like puke.
JPEG is better than PNG for image compression because it creates smaller file sizes, but PNG is better for quality because it preserves more detail and supports transparency.
Photoshop has more fixed features and could be better for some users. One downside to Photoshop is the price, GIMP is free.GIMP "scripts" are more flexible and can use image parameters whereas Photoshop "Actions" use absolute values.Gimp can be run on far more machines (operating systems) than Photoshop.
Because of the amazing features, It costs so much You could try downloading GIMP it contains no viruses and is free And much better than Photoshop
Yes. It is completely free, and better than commercial programs like photoshop
less userfriendly than photoshop but when u get used to it its fine
They mostly do the same things- but in Photoshop many actions can be done in a separate layer ... the end results may be the same, but in Photoshop you can go back and change things to a deeper level than you can in GIMP.
Try gimp, it free and a lot easier than photoshop.
This sort of question is subjective. If you are in a professional graphics designer job, you almost certainly will be using Photoshop; most employers are convinced that this software is the best because of its price tag. Otherwise, its a matter of the features that matter most to you as a user of the software. Some people prefer Photoshop, while others prefer Gimp. Currently, Photoshop is trending 7 times higher than Gimp (according to Google Trends). This is a suggestion of market share/popularity rather than an answer to "which one is better". Many users enjoy the filters available in Photoshop, while "computer geeks" enjoy the easy extensibility of Gimp via modules (which are relatively easy to script). Both have an impressive array of features, including layers, animations, paths, color space editors/transforms, and so on. Try a free trial of photoshop, and try a copy of Gimp. Make sure you get some tutorials for both so you can learn how to use them and make informed decisions. Many critics won't look at "free" software, so ratings can be deceptive.
There are many photo editing programs besides Photoshop. A few that come to mind are Picassa, GIMP, Paint dot net, and Photoscape. There are quite a few others that are free and easier or more intuitive to use than photoshop.
I use Photoshop Cs3 to design GFX, and photoshop is the preferred program other than GIMP. A good photoshop community to join once you have installed it and are ready to start working is http://www.fringefx.net
Free photoshop downloads on a trial basis (30 days) are available on adobe's website. Though it is not legal and therefore I do not recommend or condone it, photoshop can be found through pirate/torrent sites in their full version. If you want to abide by the law and edit your images for more than thirty days, I highly recommend a program called GIMP. It is photoshop's free equal and is available at GIMP.org.I find it very much comparable to photoshop. I own both programs and switch back and forth between the two depending on my needs, but I work mostly from GIMP, to be honest. You may not love GIMP at first, but I recommend sticking with it. Over time you may come to appreciate it even more than Photoshop. Also, because GIMP is a free program, updates are free and being produced much more often than Photoshop. I have also found that the community and support that follow GIMP is much more expansive and is often in the interest of teaching and helping others rather than bragging or showboating.Good luck and I hope this has helped you!
try gimp
There is the GIMPShop, which is the GIMP, with a modified UI, so that it looks and feels like photoshop, if that's what you are used to, or prefer. There is also an online program called "Splashup", previously known as "fauxto". It is very similar to Photoshop, but it is only available online and cannot be downloaded for offline use. (Aviary is in the same boat as Splashup) Corel Paint Shop is a popular alternative to Photoshop, though it has less features than GIMP or Photoshop. Also, there is a great site where there is a whole collection of photo-creating and editing software and even music editing software that you can use online. You don't have to download anything.
