I am the President of Lazy Day Pools out of Atlanta and my company has been retrofitting Swimming Pools to provide drinkable pool water for the past five years. The system does not use salt or chlorine and instead uses copper ionization mixed with titanium oxygen generation and ionized glass filtration to render the water crystal clear and drinkable (NSF-61 Certified Drinkable). We are now offering the same system we put on our swimming pools to purify drinking water in whole house systems to every tap. We have had such great success with the drinkable pool water over the past five years that we no longer offer salt or chlorine systems anymore on new pools we build. The average cost to retro an existing pool with these systems is around $3K. I thought your question was interesting because with all that is going on in the world today it is nice to know that as long as I have electric power (generator, etc.) I will continue to have 30,000 gallons of drinkable water in my backyard. I think we aren't the only ones who think about this stuff because sales are though the roof! Hope this information helped. More info at www.lazydaypools.com/ecosmarte.htm
Keep your pool water clean is a very challenging task. You can use some pool supplies like Dust Net, Water filter, water vacuum cleaner for remove dust from surface, etc. Keep switch on your water filter for 24/7 hrs for cleaning water or remove small dust particles from the water. Clean your water filter after every 7 days it makes clear passage through the filter, it helps your water clean regularly. If you do not clean your filter then your filter get chocked up and water will not pass through the filter. You can chlorinate you pool water it also help to keep your pool water germs free.
From the pool
First of I think you may be referring to the pool filter not the pump. "Filter" runs the water thru the filter thus filtering the water. Recirculate, I believe, bypasses the filter media and sends the water back to the pool unfiltered. K
A pool skimmer is generally built into the side of or around the top of a swimming pool in order to skim debris from the surface of the water. A pool filter is built into the plumbing in order to filter fine debris from the water itself.
Probably for many things, but the main one is to make tap water drinkable.

Salt is not a filter, it is added to pool water to allow a chlorine generator to operate.
It lets the water BACK into the pool after it's been "filtered" through the filter.
Filters and chemicals work differently. You'll need both. The filter removes particulate from the water, which makes it clear (which makes you happy). The chemicals act by reducing the amount of microorganisms growing in the water. The chemicals work first and the filter sweeps up after them. For a private pool you can use less of the chemicals than are usually used in public pools.
evaporation or the removal of water.
Adding algaecide to the pool when the filter is on should not do any harm in fact it should mix it into the water more quickly
You have to treat pool water with pool chemicals and use a pool filter to get and keep the water clear.
