Unless it's a long tedious job, I try to avoid using trigger locks. - - Many years ago when using a large Makita belt sander to clean up old wood flooring, my trigger finger got numb, so I used the trigger lock. Just a few minutes later someone came in behind me and in turning , I lost grip and this big sander went flying across the floor into the next room, ploughing a huge scar in a part I'd already finished ! - A lesson I never forgot !

What is a trigger lock?

A trigger lock is used for gun safety. It is a mechanism that goes over the trigger and locks to prevent the trigger from being pulled.

Are trigger locks good for the US?

If used properly, trigger locks are a valid safety device. If used improperly, trigger locks can be a hazard, and may even cause death. Some lock/gun combinations are actually more likely to discharge accidentally than an unlocked gun. Trigger locks by and large are useless against thieves, but can be used to control child access. If a firearm is kept for defensive purposes, a trigger lock is not an appropriate choice for access control and other options should be investigated. Since so much depends on the circumstances and the particular user, along with wide variety in lock and firearm designs, a definitive answer is not possible. As always, the ultimate safety is between your ears. Do not rely on the presence of a trigger lock. Do not assume the gun is not loaded. Do not assume it will not fire. Do not handle firearms you are not familiar with, just because they have a lock on them.

Is a passive alarm supposed to lock the doors also?

I believe a passive alarm will just activate a horn or very loud sound device after the initial trigger is activated, like opening a door, hood or trunk lid. And that is that. You need to get a pricier alarm to activate door locks, etc. Hope this helps.

If a set spell or trap card is targeted to be destroyed can you activate them?

Yes, being targetted in no way 'locks' the targetted card, stopping it from being activated. If it's the correct spell speed, it can be activated in chain to the targeting effect.
