The BREN gun was a Czech design. The basic Czech weapon was known as the ZB vz. 26, while the first variants chambered for the British 7.7x56R (.303) cartridge were developed and manufactured in Czechoslovakia as the ZGB 30/33, which was then manufactured under license in the United Kingdom as the BREN ("BR" for Brno - where it was designed, and "EN" for Enfield, where the British Royal Small Arms Factory was located).

Aside from the United Kingdom, the BREN was also manufactured in Canada and India, and remains in production in India today, chambered in 7.62x51 NATO.

As for photos, see related link 'Modern Firearms - BREN' at the bottom.
