The answer is no. According to Marixst ideology, all society moves in one of either two directions. Either it stays Capitalist and moves towards Imperialism, or it becomes socialist and moves towards Communism. Marx taught that there were three stages in the movement towards Communism. The first is the revolution by the workers that overthrows the existing social-economic system and replaces it with a government run entirely by the working class which will abolish private property and concentrate it all in the hands of the workers. Once this has been achieved, the society has entered the Socialist stage. In the Socialist stage, the entire economy will be run by the workers and geared exactly as they need it, over the course of time, as the workers control the economy all forms of economic inequality will be erased. Once all people are economically free, all class distinctions will disappear. As class distinctions disappear so too will government institutions which will no longer be necessary. This last stage is known as true Communism. The Bolshevik revolution established a "Dictatorship of the proletariat" under Vladimir Lenin, however a socialist society was never created, much less a stateless. Lenin did carry through on his promises such as reducing the working hours of the day and ending Russia's involvement in World War I. However, his new society never progressed beyond that point. Marxism says that a socialist society must be free and democratic, Lenin's was neither, he banned any political opposition and fixed all election. When Lenin died in 1924, the Soviet Union was taken over by Josef Stalin, who implemented one of the most heinous and oppresive regimes known to man. The leaders that followed Stalin were unable to follow their own Marxism.
