This is because Utah rebelled against Canada which is why the league of nations wasn't part of World War 1
There were over a hundred countries that were not part of World War I.
After World War I Britain acquired the following countries as League of Nations mandates (after 1945, United Nations trust territories): * Tanganyika (corresponds to present day Tanzania but without Zanzibar) * Camerun (part only) * Togo (part only) * Iraq (independent in 1932) * Palestine (corresponds roughly to present day Israel and the West Bank/Occupied Territories) * Transjordan (corresponds to modern Jordan)
here is the link to the picture http://history.sandiego.edu/gen/WW1Pics/81579.jpganyone have an idea what it means ?This is a political cartoon which was probably drawn in either 1919 or 1920. The man standing in the boat is Woodrow Wilson and the man on the dock is either Uncle Sam or Henrey Cabot Lodge. The league refers to the League of Nations, which was sort of like the failed United Nations. The League of Nations was added by Wilson as part of the Treaty of Versaille and he wanted it to be created. However, it turned into a sinking ship because there were a lot of American senators who were Isolationist and didn't want America to be involved in "Entangling Alliances" with other nations. Wilson's main rival was Henry Cabot Lodge, a Republican Senator, proposed 14 reservations to the treaty of Versaille/ League of Nations if he and his fellow Republicans were to sign off on it. Wilson refused to compromise though, and a deal was never reached. This is why America never signed the Treaty of Versaille and the League of Nations collasped with out American involvement.
British Commonwealth of Nations
Triple Alliance, secret agreement between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy formed in May 1882 and renewed periodically until World War I.
The League of Nations was formed after World War 1, as part of the Peace Treaties that ended that war.
WW1. After WW2, the UN was created and anyone who was part of the League of nations joined the UN.
Wilson came up with the Fourteen Points, part of the Treaty of Versailles at the end of WWI, and part of that was the League of Nations. Part of this was that when one nation got into war, the other nations in the league were expected to help and declare war as well. When Wilson came back to the US to get the treaty signed, the Senate rejected it. The US never signed the Treaty or became part of the League of Nations.
yes they both wanted peace in the world but the league of nations failed to do tht because they didnt tend to other crimes happening throught tht time. :D like when japan tried to invade Mongolia. even though japan was part of the league of nations. :DDDD
Woodrow Wilson promoted the idea of the League of Nations to the French and all the other nations of the alliance when they were discussing the surrender conditions to be presented to the Germans. He had fourteen points of his ideas and some were incorporated into the Treaty of Versailles but the entire idea of the League of Nations failed. Wilson's own country refused to endorse and be part of the League of Nations. He wanted the League of Nations to promote, preserve and protect the world peace. The league turned out to be a failure because it was unable to prevent World War 2 and gain the cooperation of all the nations. The United Nations does a better job.

The League of Nations
America for one
The League of Nations was formed as part of Woodrow Wilson's 14 points.
US President Woodrow Wilson proposed the creation of the League of Nations as part of the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. He believed that it would be an international organization that could help prevent future conflicts and maintain world peace.
By the time of it dissolved all sovereign nations in the world had been part of it at one time or another except for the United States, Nepal, and Saudi Arabia.
The meaning of the below cartoon is that we created the League of Nations, but refused to join in. We did not take part in the "bridge" that we had created.
