The pharynx consists of three sections. The upper portion of the pharynx (from the base of the skull to the top of the soft palate) is called the nasopharynx. Beneath the oral cavity lies the oropharynx. The final portion, the laryngopharynx, is the part of the throat that is connected to the esophagus.
The pharynx is part of the neck and throat behind the mouth and nasal cavity and above the esophagus and larynx There three parts to the pharynx and all three are in the head or neck. The nasopharynx is at the top and is the space directly behind the nasal cavity and is bordered by the pharyngeal tonsil and the uvula. The oropharynx is beneath that, directly behind the oral cavity. It is very small and extends only from the base of the uvula to the top of the epiglottis. Finally the laryngopharynx is at the bottom and is pretty much in line with the epiglottis.

sucks up the food particles, trasports them to the next structure in the earthworm's digestive system
another name is the throat. pharynx is the appropiate name though and i reccomend you use that.
The segment number of the pharynx on an earthworm is around 4-7. Hope that helps.
The nasopharynx is the upper part of the pharynx. This is where the adenoids are located and most people have these removed as a child or when they have their tonsils removed.
