A savanna can be dry or wet depending on the location. For instance the tropical savanna in Australia is a a wet area. Then again a savanna in Africa can be a dry grassland. No two savannas are the same.

Animals in the Savannah's get water from oasis'. An oasis is like a really, really, really small jungle. It normally has a tree or two, some fruit or vegetable, and a little pond of water. If you're wondering where that comes from, it's produced by an underground spring.

yes there is water in grasslands but not allot of it. That would make the soil to moisturized and that would make the grass shorter.
