I don't have an answer to your question, and I found your question while looking for information on my 1990 Dodge Ram conversion van. My van is on a D250 Chasis, but probably has the same engine as the B250. My van does the same thing. I've taken it to many mechanics, including a Dodge Dealership and they could never fix the problem. A friend told me today who is a mechanic that it could the the fuel pump, which I belive is located in the fuel tank. I'm overseas right now and cannot check it out, but plan on running a few checks on it when I go home. Have you experienced any electrical problems with your van? Darrell : Well i also have a 1992 dodge b250 van that does that same exact thing does anyone know what it is i have it at the shop right now so if i hear or what it is i will say but they tell me they dont know. plus my fuel pump u can hear plain as day and i dont know why. : thanks for reading : Jared My '94 B250 had the exact same problem. Definitely the fuel pump, or "fuel sending unit" as they call it. I went through a series of expensive and unsuccessful repairs before it was finally determined that was the problem. It's an expensive repair because the unit is inside the gas tank and the tank has to be dropped to get at it. I had the same problem. My fix was a bad ignition coil.
