This probably because windows xp is an old windows and runs quite slowly and Windows 7 is up-to-date and can run much faster. Another reason may be, because your Internet explorer on xp is not up-to-date (Internet explorer 8 is the newest) and the windows 7 already has Internet explorer on it.
