The Shapely-Curtis debate over the size of the Milky Way Galaxy and the universe occurred in 1920, laying the groundwork for Hubble's discoveries later on that decade. The evidence Hubble gathered using the 100 inch Hooker telescope pretty firmly established Curtis as the winner of this debate. His research was easily confirmed by other astronomers, and thus most were quickly persuaded. Hubble's results dovetailed with other areas of science, such as Einstein's General Relativity.
why did other scientist not accpet Alfred Wegeners theory
no.
in theory they can, but they havn't
Because of Ptolemy. This was a case of both secular and religious authorities forcing a theory (which was proven wrong in the ancient world) to be the received wisdom, due to a reluctance to accept new theories. It is taught to scientists nowadays as a warning, to always be on the watch that they do not grow so comfortable with a theory that they will struggle to defend it, even against overwhelming evidence to the contrary..
theory
The overwhelming majority of scientists accept the theory of evolution by natural selection. Any scientists that do not accept the theory usually do so for religious reasons.
probably when you can prove it
the quantum theory
Each scientists have there own opinion. Some accept theories and some have to have facts.

The Big Bang theory is the most widely accepted.
The Big Bang theory is the most widely accepted.
It is NOT scientifically disputed as the overwhelming number of scientists accept evolutionary theory. Those scientists, and others, that do not accept the theory do so for religiously ideological reasons, though they try to rationalize this by pseudo scientific proposals.
Wegner's theory was not accept because he didn't have much evidence to support his theory with and scientists thought that there might have been a land bridge between the continents. Another reason to why his theory was rejected was that he was a foreigner, by that; the scientists didn't really take him seriously.
99.9% of all scientists accept evolutionary theory. A great majority of biologists, at least, find it useful.
Alfred Wegener's continental drift theory has subsequently been honed by scientific discoveries to the more all-inclusive plate tectonic theory which is generally accepted by earth scientists.
They generally don't. The Giant Impact Hypothesis is generally accepted amongst scientists.
