Both were Colonial American Acts against the british that lead up to The American Revolution. The Boston Massacre occured when a group of colonials were taunting and throwing rocks at a group of british soldiers in boston. The colonials present were drunk, and one of them walked up to a soldier and hit him with a club. The soldier he hit shot him. After that, the other soldiers started firing. Part of the reson may have been that the colonials were taunting the soldiers to "fire!", and the soldiers may have thought that was a command from their officer. The Boston Tea Party was another act. The colonials were angry with the new British tax on tea, so they dressed up like Native Americans and went aboard British ships and dumped countless of tea chests into Boston Harbor. There is an estimated amount of 350 tea chests dumped into the harbor.

No. The Boston Tea party was an event on December 16, 1773 where American colonists of the city of Boston, Massachusetts, revolted against British taxation on tea (and taxation in general) by dressing up as Native America Indians and bordering British tea merchant ships and dumping crates of tea into Boston Harbor. The Boston Massacre was an event that took place on March 5, 1770 where British Armed Troops opened fire on a small mob of Boston citizens who were crowding around the soldiers and threatening them. The soldiers killed five citizens.

Although they occurred independently, they both show escalating tension between the Bostonians and the British during the same time. The Boston Tea Party happened because the Bostonians were angered by the taxes imposed by the British without being represented by an actual person from the colony. The Boston massacre killed five people, it is often times blown out of proportion, but it show how tense the times were.

No, the two are not related to each other. Infact, the Boston Tea Party occurred after the Boston Massacre.

The Boston Massacre (1770) was an instance of manslaughter. A mob of Bostinians were provoking the British army that was stationed there. They started throwing rocks, mud and etc. The British soldiers were alarmed and called for their Captain to help bring peace. However, one of the soldiers mistakenly heard the Captain say Fire! when he arrived and he started firing. A couple other soldiers joined in shooting until they were stopped shortly after. Five Bostinians were down on the ground. Three were wounded and two were killed. This was considered an outrage in the colonies. A trial was to be held, but no one wanted to represent the British soldiers. Two lawyers stepped up because they felt that these people desereved a chance. These lawyers were Samuel Adams and John Adams. In the end, the soldiers were found guilty of manslaughter and not murder.

The Boston Tea Party (1773) was the event that was a result of angry colonists. The colonists did not agree with Britian's Tea Act and this was a way of rebelling against it. Britain had refused to remove their ships with tea from Boston's port. So, in the middle of the night, colonists dressed up like Indians and went aboard their ships. They dumped all the tea into the Boston Harbour. This outraged the British government and they demaned a payment for the lost tea. Boston would not pay, so their port was shut down by Britain.

These two acts have nothing in common, except for the location and the type of people invovled.

No. The Boston Massacre happened BEFORE the tea party.Hancock paid and organized it and had Samuel Adams organize the men. They didn't dress up. This is part of the fable. The Boston Tea Party was a protest of the lowering of the cost of the British tea by the government and the East India tea company who had gotten a bail out from the crown in 1773. The smugglers in the colonies found the Dutch tea that they sold was higher in price than the British tea, so they staged the Boston Tea Party and others in harbors in the colonies ( Hamilton was one of the largest smugglers in the colonies and a founding member of the Son's of Liberty). The cost of tea also went as far back as the Navigation Acts and the restricting of trade to and from the colonies passed from 1650-1733. Tea was also taxed in 1767 in the Townsend Acts.

No, not at all. Over 2,000 people died in Pearl and chests of tea were put into the harbor in the tea party. One captain got his head hit. No comparison between the two events.

They weren't linked. The only thing is they both happened in Boston and were years apart. What series of event linked the Boston massacre and the Boston tea party?

The British taxes on goods created hard feelings between the British and colonists. British soldiers panicked during a protest and caused the Boston Massacre. The British repealed all taxes except the one on tea in an effort to prove to the colonists that they had the power to tax the colonies. The colonists protested and caused the Boston Tea Party.
