As this is a complex question there are several answers below.

NO. 90 percent of them say that they are Turkish first. Also Turkey is not as religious of a country as the European and American press show to world. Turkey is not some outdated Arab country riding camels (especially since there are no camels in Turkey). But many people have the wrong impression. Turkey is a modern European country like Italy, France or England. There is one difference between these countries and Turkey and that is culture; everything else is nearly similar.

Unfortunately some of them do. However, in order to be Turkish, unlike stated above, all you need is some Altaic roots. And the ancestors of Turkish people are older than Islam obviously, so it does not make sense if you say "you can't be Turkish unless you're Muslim".

This is not the case except perhaps in some of the more religious areas of the country and, even then, it is very rare. Most Turks identify as Turks or Turkish Muslims (where the ethnic/national identity of Turk and Muslim are on equal footing). Islam is seen as part of the historical Turkish identity in much the same way that Catholicism is seen as part of the Irish historical identity and just as most Irish are proud to be Catholics (and some are devout), most Turkish are proud of being Muslims (and some are devout).
