Of course they do. Scientists believe anything that they think is true.
The overwhelming majority of scientists accept the theory of evolution by natural selection. Any scientists that do not accept the theory usually do so for religious reasons.
Since the natural selection is a theory, we can not apply a theory as a science. Even though some scientists believed in natural selection: think of Nazi scientists, Soviet scientists, etc. They were 100% evolutionist believers. Nobody yet seen atoms but we believe that they exist...strange. We apply faith in some modern science...hmmm...
they just dont agree.
i think were did they got endosymbiosis :)
Scientists don't "think" that the first life forms arose from non-living materials. However, they do accept abiogenesis as the only testable theory on the origins of life, as we know it. The Miller-Urey experiment set out to prove that the chemical components of life can arise from natural processes. While it does not prove life can come from non-living matter, it does show that its' components can arise naturally.
scientists actually believe that the megladon is alive and well. As for me, i don't know what to believe. Scientists think that it still lives in the Indian ocean, which is off the coast of India.

the impact theory.
they think it was once part of the earth and then somehow was hit and broke away from us, but staying in our gravitational pull...
nobody believe in the planets at first
A theory is something they think is true and a law is something that has be proven to be true
Each scientists have there own opinion. Some accept theories and some have to have facts.
Not all scientists believe this. The topic of Earth being the only planet in the known universe to support life has been and still is a heated debate amongst many scientists.
Scientists have this theory on how the moon was formed: They believe that when the Earth was still a bubbly hot lava thing, something the size of Mars struck Earth, and bits and specks of particles flew everywhere. Gravity pulls it together, and it makes the Moon. Scientists think of this as the best logical theory as to how the Moon was formed, and that the Earth could be just a bit older than the Moon.

I have read somewhere that scientists think that europa may have an underground ocean.
Sometimes the scientists can't think of a suitable theory to explain their results but publish their experiments anyway to provide data for others so maybe another scientist can create a theory.
