If it does, than it would be an insignificantly small amount. Tryptophan is an amino acid found in turkey and like all amino acids in a body, tends to accumulate in proportional amounts in each muscle. That is, larger muscles will have more tryptophan than smaller muscles. Anyway, tryptophan will not cause you to become sleepy unless your stomach is mostly empty. The reason most people feel tired after a Thanksgiving meal can be most attributed to carbohydrate overload.

What part of the chicken is better for you white meat or dark meat?

Someone answered that dark meat chicken is not as good as white because it is higher in fat. Animal fat is a crucial staple of the diet and should not be dismissed because American social beliefs have been manipulated to lean towards "low-fat." I recommend chapters one through three in the book "Good Calorie, Bad Calorie" which cites multiple scientific and empirical studies over the past hundred years (often attempting to validate the benefits of low fat/low cholesterol) which disprove the hypothesis that fatty foods impact cholesterol, heart disease, and mortality rates. The hypothesis that lower fat white meat is better is disproved by hundreds of double blind clinical tests. Remember that one must seek to disprove, not confirm a guess about a subject.AnswerAlthough dark meat does have higher fat content than white meat, it has more vitamin B, iron and protein than white meat. Are quail breasts white meat?

Quail breasts are considered more of a combination of white meat and dark meat. Dark meat refers to the areas on a bird that get the most movement/exercise, such as the wings and legs. That is because with so much movement, the blood flow is heavier in these areas, and they typically have more fat. White meat refers to the areas used less, especially in flight, which is the breast area. However, because Quail are so much smaller, their breast muscles get more of a workout, thereby increasing the blood flow, but not as much as the legs and wings. Which is why they are considered a combination (the only bird listed as a combination).
