No. Ethnocentrism adopts the idea that an individual's ethnicity should shape (or does shape) their viewpoints. It endorses a person to form their opinions and ideas based on the perceived strengths and skills of their ethnicity. In some forms, it encourages physical or social segregation, either self-ordained or against other ethnicities. Diversity challenges ethnocentric ideas--to accept diversity is to accept that all ethnicities are equal, that no singular ethnic history or viewpoint is "right". All ethnic cultures have made both contributions and also mistakes in their histories; and culture should be based less on one's genetic makeup and more on one's social experiences.

A banana. It has absolutely nothing to do with ethnocentrism and so is a perfect non-example.
Ethnocentrism is the judgement of another culture based on the standards of one's own ethnicity. It limits people because they might not communicate with others based on their stereotypes. This prevents people from interacting with each other.
The main difference between ethnocentrism and xenocentrism is the preference of culture. Ethnocentrism is a preference to your own culture standards while xenocentrism is a preference to different cultures.
"How strongly do you agree with the statement: 'My culture is superior to others'?"
ethnocentrism
Ethnocentrism is the act of believing your own culture is not only better but more right than others. My guess would be that counter ethnocentrism is counteracting this. Like culture relativism, which is trying to accept other cultures for being just what they are and not judging them.
