This question has been all over lately, and the answer is complicated. The jacket is the Obey Iggy m65 military jacket. However, this is not the exact jacket, because the ones in the movie were customized, buttons were added to the pockets, etc. But i assure you, this is the jacket. It even has the awesome Zip-Hood!

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No he didn't retire doing Garfield. In fact his comic strip is still going on just like Family Circus, Dennis the Menace, Ziggy, Charlie Brown reruns is going on. But hopefully we'll get to see a comic strip panel where Jon finally marries Liz in a church, goes on their honeymoon and has children of their own before the comic strip does retire for good. Hopefully Jim Davis will decide to let Jon marry Liz.

Where did the cartoon cat Garfield get his name?

User Avatar

Asked by Getacar

Jim Davis was trying to get syndicate interest in his comic strip 'Gnorm the Gnat' but was told that people do not relate to insects. After studying successful comic strips to find out what people did relate to, Davis realized that while there were lots of comics about dogs, there were none about cats and so he created Garfield. Garfield is named after Jim Davis' grandfather, James Garfield Davis.

What is the middle name of Garfield the cat?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It doesn't seem that he has a middle name. One obscure source I found said it is "Abram" but this name is not listed anywhere else I could find. Garfield was named after James Garfield Davis, Jim Davis' father, but I have found nothing that implies James or Davis became a part of his name. It seems that officially, his name is just "Garfield Arbuckle."
