Humans are at the universal evolutionary stage of development where they have become self-actualized. They can know themselves and therefore able to compare themselves to other things in their environment. They are able to tell that which builds up and that which tears apart. They can chose to help the environment or harm it, but that can choose to do that which is good for it.
