Go to Strutmaster.com and buy a conversion kit to eliminate the air ride system all together. That is what I did and I no longer have to worry about the air compressor or air lines or leaking air bags and hoses. I spent about $678 to replace both front and back shocks and springs and did the work myself.

I noticed that " Helpfull " had answered that the air suspension relay on a 1998 Ford Expedition was located on a bracket by the passenger side headlight . ( he came up with the answer after doing a Google search about 21 hours ago - was the answer not correct ? )

I'm assuming your talking about the Expedition trim package on the Ford Explorer when you say 1996 ? because the Expedition model first year was called a 1997 . Anyway , it sounds like a leaking brake hose
