Well i can only tell you where its located and how to change it on a 2000 Mercedes Benz CLK430 I recently changed mine. The Crank Position Sensor is located under the hood on the Driver side their is a fat black wire that goes down into the crankshaft connecting into the sensor so first you have to unclip the wire to get to the sensor after you've done that you will see the sensor in the shaft you will need a 1/4" socket, extension and ratchet to unscrew the torx screw that connects the sensor to the shaft and a pair of vice grips to wiggle this sensor out since its about 3" long and positioned into the sensor that far down if you need a picture of the engine showing the engine and location of it email me @ Delroyh24@Yahoo.com

No, the throttle position sensor detects how far open the intake is. The crank position sensor watches the rotation of the crankshaft.
it does not have a crank position sensor. it uses the ignition control module as a crank sensor. it is in the distributor cap
The crank position sensor is the sensor that measures TDC or top dead center of the crankshaft. Its located on the bell housing of the transmission and is a magnet type sensor and measures a toothed ring on the flywheel, can be access ususlly from the top of the engine at the rear/drivers side. they def. go bad and can cause crank/no start complaints......especially when hot!
For 3.5l, remove starter.
