It's in the Chilton's shop manual for that truck. The body mounts must be loosened. Don't try to do it without looking it up.
either remove the engine or lift engine up high enough to get to all the bolts on the pan and enough clearance to get it out from the suspension.

The 1999 Ford Ranger 3.0L V6 engine has a no-interference design. This means that?æ there is enough clearance between the piston and the valves. Therefore, when the timing belt fails, no damage will occur to the engine.
yes if there is enough ground clearance,or you remove the nose of the car.
No, not enough clearance. No, not enough clearance.
I own a 1999 vauxhall combo van petrol /L.P.G and want to change the temperature stat , however i thought the housing would be from the top of the radiator to the engine but there apears to be no housing just a cooling pipe into the engine , certainly nothing large enough to contain the stat . am i looking in the wrong place
$550 at the dealership. The motor has to be raised up to gain enough clearance to get it out of the engine bay.
The thermostat is located on the driver's side of the engine directly below the throttle body. It is inside the aluminum housing that the upper radiator hose attaches to. There are two 13 mm bolts holding the housing on. Both bolts must be removed using a 13mm wrench, there is not enough clearance to use a socket. Be patient it is difficult. Make sure you use a new thermostat gasket.
remove top engine mount and cut off metal lug that stops engine from lowering enough to remove harmonic balancer. Then engine lowers enough.
Any leak will change the way the engine breathes. Any change can change the air/fuel mixture. If it changes enough it can cause damage.
Either they weren't put on tight enough or the threads on the filter housing are worn.
Where the top radiator hose goes to the engine there is a two-bolt housing that the hose is connected to. After the engine is cool, drain enough coolant so when removing the two housing bolts you don't lose a lot of the coolant. You should find your thermostat setting in the intake manifold for the 4.0 and just behind the housing in the 3.0.
