I had a 1997 and in order to change the rear bulbs you needed to go in the trunk and behind where the tail lights are there should be a plastic cover. If you remove this you will see the bulbs. You can then replace them with a similar bulb. Additional Info: Replacing the bulbs is actually a piece of cake. You don't even need a tool. Once you remove (unsnap) the black plastic cover, you'll see three screws. These screws hold the tail light assembly to the Cabrio body. No need to take the nuts off however (just thought you'd want to know in case you ever want to remove the tail light. Just below, and inward of the top two screws are two tabs...squeeze them together with your fingers and gently pull... the bulb mounting plate will unsnap from the tail light assembly. All of the bulbs are mounted to the plate and are simply twisted and pulled out for replacement. The Cabrio takes a 7506 bulb for the stop, blinker, and back-up lights. Snap everything back together and your finished. Happy motoring...
