At this point I can't help you but the same thing just happened to my driver side door handle yesterday (what a pain in the axx). I'm getting ready to try and tackle it now and I'll let you know how it works out.
My '98 intrepid will arm/disarm the factory alarm when you use the key in the driver's side door. Maybe that works on a 2001 also?
You can't remove just the inside handle. The handle is part of the door panel.
The problem is that the inside door handle is broken. Although the inside door handle needs replacement you can still open the door by pulling on the lock lever above the handle.
The latch is under the front of the hood. The release handle is at the left side of the interior near the driver's door.
Door handle to what?
Yes, they are both 2nd generation and the doors are identical.
replacing door handle on a 2001 ford explorer? what tools are needed?
inside the glove box....if not there then open the driver door, and it will be on the side of the dash exposed when the driver side door is open
= How do you replace the driver's side Inside door handle on a 2004 Toyota Camry? =
Listed on the driver's door post and in the owner's manual.
Need to know if it is an inside or outside door handle.
There is 2 covers on the handle above the main handle with all of your switches. Remove them and the 2 bolts and slide the plastic piece through the door handle slide the panel up as you are pulling on the handle to let it slide through the door panel. Then disconnect the wires for the switches and mirror.
