depends what vehicle it is on on a Ford there is a switch on the chassis rails on the right side . this needs to be reset after brakes are repaired. if it does not reset it needs to be replaced depending on year and model the new swtich mahe have to be rewired to accomadate the new switch instructions for this come with the new switch it is not a big deal

The abs light is on because there is a problem with the system and it is not functioning. You need to have the codes read to determine what the problem is. Until the problem is fixed the light will remain on.
