How do you go about finding someone that you think is missing or dead?

Try reaching them through any means of contact (email, phone, visit their house)/
Ask other people that might have seen them (family, friends, co-workers).
Call the police.
You can also: * Write a full description or get a recent photograph of the person and visit or fax hospitals and police stations
* Make a list of the daily routines of the person and interview people at the places where the person used to go
* Contact the bank or credit card company of the person, inform of your concerns and ask for them to see if there has been any activity in the account or card recently. They will not give you the information in detail but they can confirm if there is activity or not.
You must consider the possibility that the person wanted to vanish voluntarily, in this case you must respect the person's intention. If you are considering the possibility of amnesia, you can:
* Make a list of the hobbies and activities that the person likes and contact all places in the region, where someone can go for those activities
* Make a list of the jobs that the person is able to perform or like to perform and contact places where the person could apply for a job Usually even after amnesia a person keeps certain preferences. To contact law enforcement agencies, particularly those with a specialized missing persons unit, or contacting specialized private investigators with good reputation, is the recommended option if the person has gone missing for some days already.
