For example, a connotation of the character Harry Potter is "the boy who lived." When referring to Harry, I could call him "the boy who lived." This way, people can get a better picture of who Harry is and what type of person he is by using this connotation. We can obviously assume that this "boy who lived" is special and is a Survivor of something.
