How do you pop the door panel off of the driver's door on a Honda passport to check the rod for the outside door handle you can open your driver's door from the inside but not from the outside?

I don't have an answer, but I have the same question about reomving the back gate panel to quell a rattle. Hopefully someone will answer both of us at the same time.
I just figured it out this evening: There are six screws. (1) One in the little well behind the inside door handle (easy). (2) Three behind the large speaker grille (pop it off carefully with a screwdriver). (3) Two behind the door pull, that's the big handle in the middle of the door. This is the tricky one - find the seam along the front or back edge and carefully pry the top half off with a screwdriver.
Finally, carefully pull the window-button panel up out of the door, it's not fastened but it is a bit snug. Disconnect the plug on the back of the panel and set the panel aside.
Once you remove the six screws, the rest of the fasteners are just plastic snaps. Pull gently on each one as you go around, then carefully lift the door panel off. It may be easier to do this with the window down; however then you have to plug the button panel back in and raise the window to access the mechanical stuff inside the door.
Reassembling is actually trickier than getting it off, since you have to fit things back exactly where they came from. It may help to have a second pair of hands.
I had exactly the same problem! Pin had come off the outside door handle so I had to reach over the driver's seat to open the door from the inside. It took me an hour to get the door panel off, and two seconds to fix the problem. ;)

go thru passenger side and open drivers door; remove inside of door panel. You will see wire rod unhooked next to left side. rehook rood and outside should wook. If this is not the problem then the outside door handle has broken and must be replaced by taking two nuts/bolts (don't remember now) from inside, unhook rod, and replace handle.
