break peddal . \nOn my 94 ranger its on the break pedal (towards the top)\nits pretty easy to replace I have changed 3 times in 12 years
New Answer Using your current key, insert it into the ignition & turn the ignition to the "On" position but not the "Start" position. Do not start the truck. Next, using a very small screwdriver (preferably a Phillips head) insert it into the hole located under the ignition key cylinder on the stee…ring column. Pressing upwards with the small screwdriver or nail, you will press in the release button. Firmly grip the key & ignition cylinder while pressing up on this release button & remove while in the "On" position. Insert your new ignition cylinder with the key in it, into the "On" position until it snaps in place. Going in, the release button does not need to be depressed. You now have a Cylinder key, that will not match your door lock keys! Best of luck. (MORE)

Remove the screws around the dash panel and remove the guage cluster. Be careful a lot of dashes have clips as well as screws. If it doesn't slide right out you are missing something. Once you have it out there will be little white retainers that hold in the lights. Usually a quarter of a turn is al…l that is needed to remove them. The bulb will come out with the retainer. Simply replace the burnt out bulb and put the retainer back into the guage cluster. Screw it all back together and you should be good to go. (MORE)

This is not for the rule abiding, uptight individual, so as far as the rest of the world goes.. if you have one key to your transponder key vehicle. Simply take the key hide it under your dash on the driver side in any fashion you feel comfortable with, but, of course, have a key cut that matches it…(regular key) your computer will pick up the transponder under the dash and the $3 key will start it. Your other question will be "can people still my car now" yes, they can... will they.. NO, probably not. The reason for that is, that thieves know what they are stealing. they know your car has a transponder on it and won't even try.. they will move on to the next car. Can you bypass the transponder? NO. once again.. a thief knows this... (MORE)

Some brake light switches are on the shaft that comes out of the brake booster(firewall) under the dash and connect to the pivoting lever where your brake pedal is. To change this type, you pull the spring loaded clip out of the clevis pin,(fat "t" nail), then pull the pin out. The shaft from the bo…oster is forked and lifts away from the lever with switch, carefull to notice the plastic bushing and direction, slide the new switch in and reinstall on lever with pinn and clip. There is a lock tab on the connector. Other types have a tab welded to the lever that simply make contact with the button on the switch. The switch is simply pushed into a self holding stay from the back side. This type is pushed into the holder all the way and when the brake pedal is pushed you'll hear a ratcheting noise and the switch depth is set automatically. put a stick against the seat to see if they are on and make sure they are off with pedal released.
