These cars do not have a cap and rotor. They have direct ignition and they are located on top of the spark plugs. There are no servicable parts except the plugs.

Of course they have a Cap and Rotor I have recently replaced mine. Before you start you need to move housing for the air filter so you have room to work.
There are 2 screws that attach the Cap. Once removed the Cap will come off. The Rotor is located directly under the Cap. Just pull if off and push the new one on. Once new Rotor is installed take your new Cap and put it next to the old Cap. Make sure you install the spark plug wires in the new Cap in the same holes as the old Cap. Install one wire at a time. No need to rush take your time and do it right or the car will not start. Put the 2 screws back in to attach new Cap and your done.
Start with a bad Spark Wire Followd by a new Distributor Cap and Rotor button. Pening that failure, replace the sparks.
Remove distributor cap--it should be right under either pops off or held in place with screws
The module is located behind the Rotor Arm assembly in the distributor itself. You have to remove the Distributor Cap, then the Rotor Arm and the module is there.
there is no distributor on a 98 rav. therefore no cap or rotor. replace the plugs and wires and the tuneup is done
it has to be the distributor cap or rotor or wires...plug wires.
For all internal combustion engines that have a distributor, the crankshaft turns twice for every rotation of the camshaft. You need to point the mark to #1TDC when the piston is on top of the compression cycle. Then the rotor of the distributor points to the #1 sparkplug wire.
There is no Distributor cap or rotor in a 91 Mazda Miata. All years of the Miata use electronic computer controlled ignition systems.
