there is no distributor on a 98 rav. therefore no cap or rotor. replace the plugs and wires and the tuneup is done

Assuming you are asking about a 4.0L engine... Remove the distributor cap. Remove the rotor. Unplug the camshaft positioning sensor from the harness. Lift carefully where the cable feeds through the distributor to the CMP and remove. Put replacement CMP in the same place and connect it to the harness. Replace the rotor and distributor cap. There is no distributor cap, only a ciol pack that the plug wires go to

You will need to remove the tire and wheel of your 1998 Oldsmobile. Remove the brake pad assembly. Tap on the brake rotor with a hammer or mallet. Slide the brake rotor off. Reverse the process to install the new rotor and pads.

the module is in the distributor the module is in the distributor. you will have to remove the cap and rotor. it should be held on by 2 screws. good luck

If you remove the distributor cap and look at the left side of the distributor you will see a electrical connector and that is the cam sensor. You will have to remove the rotor button to get to it.

I just did it myself last weekend. The parts (Distributor, Cap, Rotor, and new spark plug wires) cost right around $300. I would add $600 to $700 in labor to that. So total right around $1,000.

Go to the DEALER and buy a A/C delco cap and rotor and you won't have to replace it so soon. The caps and rotors that the aftermarket places sell will not stand up to the HIGH ENERGY IGNITION SYSTEM and it BURNS them up.
