I have a Explorer '95, every so often my Over Drive light blinks, I had this error looked at by proffessionals with there Snap-On Computer. For me the error indicated that my transmission speed sensor was "missing", I just had a new one installed a year prior to this when my transmission was re-built. The error read that the computer could not read third gear, or the speed of my Explorer. So, then in front of my they reset my computer in the truck, I didn't have that error for sometime no it comes back every 100 miles or so. Well, i couldn't be going to the shop every month to have the computer reset, so I disconnected the battery for about 5mins. this seems to be my temp solution until I find out what is wrong. But, it looks to me that after about 5mins, with the ground disconnected the capasitors drain, and all the computers reset, and the error codes clear. But this is a major pain if you have an alarm, mine is connected to the horn, so everytime I reconnect the ground wire the horn blasts me in the ear.
