Similar to the Hindu rituals except the body is taken to the Gurudrawa first then to the cremation grounds for the last funeral rites on a pyre. The Gurugranth is chanted instead of the vedic chants.

Answer: Unlike the other monotheistic religions of Judaism, Zorostrianism, Christianity and Islam, Sikhism believes in reincarnation until the soul reaches a state of perfection and goes to be with God; this belief is most likely the result of Sikhism having emerged from Hinduism, which also believes in reincarnation.

In Sikhism death is considered a natural process, an event that has absolute certainty and only happens as a direct result of God's Will or Hukam. To a Sikh, birth and death are closely associated, because they are both part of the cycle of human life of "coming and going"

Hymns are sung from the scripture of the Guru Granth. The first five and final verses of "Anand Sahib," the "Song of Bliss," are recited or sung. This is the same song that is recited/sung for celebrations of marriage or child birth. The Sikhs celebrate their grievances and understand them as a natural part of life.
