About 4 to 4 1/2 hours at 325F Basting no more than once an hour
what is the cooking time for a 21 lb. bone-in ham in the oven?
If your oven is big enough and your cooking temperatures are the same, yes. Your cooking times may vary so check them carefully.
You can bake the ham and yams in the oven at the same time. If you are baking the ham for several hours, put the yams in about an hour before the ham is finished. Or put the yams in at the same time as the ham, and test them by piercing with a fork after about 45 minutes.
I was looking for an answer myself. I ended up cooking a 7 lb ham at 350 for about 4 hours and glazing heavily. turned out good
Roughly two and a half hours. Just check your hams temperature periodically with a meat thermometer and when it gets to 125 degrees at the deepest part, your ham is finished. Be sure not to let the thermometer touch the bone if your ham has one. Good luck!
The average cooking time for a ham depends on the size of the ham. An uncooked ham should be cooked for approximately 25 to 30 minutes per pound. It must reach an internal temperature of at least 160 degrees.
You baste a ham every 15-30 minutes that it's in the oven for. To baste, remove the ham from the oven and (using a spoon or baster) pour the juice that has accumulated in the tray back over the ham. Place ham back in the oven.
Carefully. A convection oven is similar to a microwave in its speed of heating. Some fatty materials may crisp or burn.
You can, but I don't see why you would want to cook a precooked ham. If you want to add more flavor, try a glaze and baking it in the oven rather than cooking it again. Also, by cooking it in liquid in a crock pot you may lose some of the smoked flavour.
at 300 to 350 is a good temp and to tell if its done u need a cooking temp taker and when u see that the ham is at 330 degrees it finish
I wouldn't recommend cooking both at the same time. I would cook your ham first, and then your turkey. That being said it can also depend on how big your oven is. If you have a commerical size oven then go ahead. The thing is that you need to make sure that both your turkey and ham reach a internal temperature over 180 degrees. This will ensure that all the bacteria is cooked out. I would cook at 375 if I had a big enough and spacious oven to do so.
Remove ham from oven 1/2 hour before end of cooking time. Empty contents of the Honey & Spice packet into small saucepan. Add 1 tablespoon of warm water. Heat glaze mixture on high, stirring constantly, until glaze begins to boil. Remove immediately from heat. Using a glazing brush, apply glaze immediately by brushing it evenly over the surface of the warm ham. (For a thicker coating, allow glaze to cool 4 to 5 minutes before applying to ham.) If ham was place in cooking bag, carefully cut bag open and pull away from ham, then apply glaze. Bake glazed ham uncovered at 250 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove glazed ham from oven and serve.
Yes, you can bake a ham and roast beef in the oven at the same time. Make sure the internal temperature for each is correct when done by using a meat thermometer, because one may be done before the other, and you may need your cooking time to be longer because you're cooking two things at one. A good temperature for cooking both at the same time would be 350 degrees F.
