AnswerFirst of all I am a female police officer who is also married to an officer. I don't know what state you are in, but in Texas a conviction of Domestic Violence is the end to an officers career. W/out the career he wouldn't have the resources to find you. Domestic abuse is a very strong subject in the police community right now. I seriously doubt that you would not be assisted. Here is my advice: first you need to make an abuse report in the city where the assault occured (remember that a threat is an assault). If you were assaulted in the city/county where your husband works then I suggest that you make an appointment with a high ranking official (Captain, Lt., Chief). Use a fake name if you need to just to get an appointment. Obviously your marriage is over at that point and you do need a place to stay. There are lots of shelters for abused women that are very safe. After you file the complaint of abuse you need to request an "EMERGENCY PROTECTIVE ORDER" this will be the legal document saying that he cant come around you, your home, yourchildren and your work.
