If not today, he definately was. During his early career he had a very high alcohol intake and during the late 60's was heavily into psychedelic drugs. The man himself admitted he barely remembers his past and in his interviews he can barely string two words together-evidence of heavy drug use that may have done brain damage, however in his interviews, he claims to have cleaned up and given the fact he has made it into his 70's, I doubt very much that he is still a user. However, addict or not, Burdon is still a legend who along with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison, is one of the founders of rock and what is more, he is still alive to talk about it.
