No! Today the United Kingdom should be correctly referred to as 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'. This incorporates England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Channel Islands can be also added along with The Orkneys and Isle of Man etc. At the turn of the 20th Century (1900), you would have referred to the British Empire and the UK as one. Now, the countries of the former British Empire collectively refer to themselves as 'The Commonwealth of Nations'. The British Monarch is no longer the ruler of the Commonwealth and is merely a token head of state with no real powers in the few remaining countries which are tokenly 'ruled 'by the Crown-ie. Australia which voted to retain the British Monarchy but the Queen as no real powers as such.
The UK is a Constitutional Monarchy.
It gave the world the British Empire, the Industrial Revolutuion as well as the English language.

At the height of the British Empire, the UK was the world's foremost manufacturing country and controlled around 25% of the world's land surface. Britain imported raw materials from its Empire (including many African countries) and exported manufactured goods to them in return.
The UK never invaded Canada. Canada is a principal part of the British Empire.
No, Almost the opposite. Canada is a Commonwealth Realm meaning that Queen Elizabeth II of the UK is also the Head of State of Canada. This goes back to when Canada, and countless other nations across the globe, such as America, South Africa and India just to name a few, where all part of the British Empire and controlled by the UK.
As part of the British Empire Australia joined WW1 with the rest of the UK
Antarctica. There was a reason for the claim that "the Sun never sets on the British Empire."

At one time some of the countries in Africa were part of the British empire. Now they are independent, but some are members of the Commonwealth of Nations, an organisation that has some of the old British empire countries as members.
