Your Ten Star may have been imported from Belgium or made by Crescent Firearms in Meriden, CT, for Folsom Arms of New York, c. 1890-1930. If you remove the barrels from the receiver and look at the bottom of the chamber there may be a Belgian proofmark. If there is a script "EL" or an oval with "ELG" and a star stamped on the gun it was made in Belgium. I don't know exactly what you mean by a "stock number" but most old shotguns are marked with various numbers and letters by the manufacturers and sometimes by the owners, so without some sort of documentation, there's no way to determine what your mark indicates.

Answerthank you very much for your answer this gun was my grandfathers he bought used in Chicago around 1946 its a single barrel 12 ga it has a nickel receiver engraved in the stock is a number like you would see with military weapons i will look at the gun closely thanks again
