what you working on? If it's a s-blazer i think i have the answer.
You can open the back hatch on a ford explorer by either accessing a switch located in the front console of the car or by finding a switch located between two of the backseat cusions.
You open the back hatch door and pull the panel away from the latch and push down on the lever to the lock the lock will then pop open and you can shut the hatch
There is a little switch beside the light inside the hatch. When you open the hatch, look up at the inside back of the hatch lid, where the inside light is. The light itself has a switch to keep the light off, so that you can leave the hatch open without the light beeing on. Then, beside the light (attached to it, but off to the side), there is a small lever switch that enables /disables the interior lock / unlock switch. That's so you can give someone the valet key when they are working on the car, or just parking it. The valet key won't open the glove box or the hatch. It's a security feature. -- John
Open the hatch and stand in the back of the car looking into the hatch. There is a cut panel on the right hand side (side near the gas port). Open that little panel and there in the hole is little switch. The fuel cut-off switch. If you open the wrong panel on the wrong side you will have opened the panel that contains the winshield washer fluid for the hatch.
Inside the door there is a release, the place where if you were in the back you could open the hatch, the lever. Stand outside the car and open the hatch. Reach inside and open that lever. It will open the mechanism.
There is a switch which is activated by opening the hatch back. It is located somewhere around the perimeter of the hatch back. When it is released, it is supposed to turn on the interior lights and activate the 'hatch open' warning light. Find the switch, and remove it, then clean the contacts, and test it. It should turn the warning light off when the button or post is depressed.
You back into a pole. Then the hatch pops open
When you open the door to get into the car, you will see a knob just behind the parking brake lever. Just pull it straight up and the rear hatch lock will release.
I don't know how to fix the main problem but if you climb in the back of the Blazer in the middle of the hatch you will see a little round plug if you pop this out use a flashlight to see inside on the right side there is a lever if you pull it toward you all the way you will hear it click then you can open your hatch and window.
Theree is none. How ever there is a way to open hatch back from inside . A small lever on the lock set.
it would be on the floor on the driver's side in front of the seat. if you reach down with your left hand, it should be right next to the front of the seat ================ I own a '91 GL and there is no lever or switch to open the hatchback, I have always had to do it manually. Other models or years may have incorporated one however, and it probably wouldn't be too hard to find. Chances are if you can't find one, it doesn't have one. -Shaun
the switch is in the lever pull backwards or push forward on lever once released
