My wiper failed on my 2001 Venture. I took it apart. There were two problems. 1) the shaft for the wiper was stiff/almost seized- apparently that is commong and can be corrected by drilling a little hole into the housing from under the plastic outside cover to be able to add oil.
2) the nylon gear was stripped probably from being too still or frozen with ice. The motor is strong enough to strip the nylon gear. The Venture rear motors seem to be a common problem and expensive$250 rebuilt. I plan to replace mine with a similar one from a 1994 chev lumina and to add a 10 amp circuit breaker to the power from the ignition to avoid stripping the gear again with ice. The 1994 has three inputs- constant power from ignition, power signal from the switch and ground in the center pin. I am hoping to be able you use your information to power the reliable old 1994 wiper motor that seems to be a more dependable design with no seizing or stripping problems- probably cheaper too.
