The center console on a 1988 Honda Civic is mounted using several screws. Locate and remove all the mounting hardware to pull the center console off. After the screws are off gently pull the center console out.

Pull of AC control knob and detach console from the?æfront frame at its corners. Next, remove console side braces, right vent distribution, steering column cover and left vent distribution. Finally, remove the 10 clips holding the heater blower cable and replace.?æ?æ?æ
Under the car dead center under console. Only way to access the pump and sending unit is to remove the tank. It is held by 2 straps and a bracket with 4 bolts. The tough part is getting the lines off.
pull ashtray.... remove rear screws behind tray.. pull tray forward to expose two screws in woodgrain center console...place transmission in low gear to allow room to remove screws. once removed slide console cover toward truck without lifting, as there is a plastic dowel holding the other end in place. lift console... slide switch out the top and remove switch. also remove pax window adjustment switch... slide both wires thru cutout and reinstall console cover. you do this first so you dont break plastic down..reconnect switches and then push them down into place... finish the rest in reverse order.
