its not impossible, but its not easy either. I did one 2 years ago and I just had another go on me. I am going to take it to an auto glass repair shop once I buy the regulator on line. They are a lot cheaper than repair shops. It took me few hours even with the on line directions, and I am pretty handy. You have to work in a tight space and its a pain. if you can get the glass shop to put it in for less than $100, its money well spent.
HOW DO I REPLACE WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ON PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW
It is easy to replace the window regulator or window clips on the rear window of a 2000 Grand Am. The clips simply snap right onto the rails inside that door that connect to the window.
You will have to replace the complete window regulator assembly.
no, different designs.
You can tell if your window regulator is broken on a Volkswagen Beetle when you hear a big clunk as it goes down.
Sounds like a problem with the regulator - alignment, looseness, etc.See "Related Questions" below for more - although the question is about replacing the motor and regulator, it'll get you into the neighborhood for a first-hand inspection.
The regulator is shot. Replace the regulator.
can probably raise the window/regulator by hand if you can remove the window motor from the regulator
its attached with glue.
remove your door panel there will be three screws holding it on. then you have to remove the screws holding your window to the regulator. then unbolt regulator and motor from door. Undo wiring going to motor.
Its should be same thing
on the 01, probably close enough to the same thing, remove the door panel, then you need the window about halfway down, there are two bolts that hold the window onto the regulator and two bolts on the bottom and two on the top of the regulator. it helps if someone can help hold the window, if not duct tape works pretty good.
