on the 01, probably close enough to the same thing, remove the door panel, then you need the window about halfway down, there are two bolts that hold the window onto the regulator and two bolts on the bottom and two on the top of the regulator. it helps if someone can help hold the window, if not Duct Tape works pretty good.
You will need a new regulator assembly.
Remove the window regulator assembly from the door.Remove the motor from the regulator by drilling out the attaching rivets with a 3/16 in. drill bit.Connect the window motor to the regulator with 3/16 in. rivets.Install the window regulator assembly.
You will have to replace the complete window regulator assembly.
You need to replace the entire regulator assembly.
Remove the door panel. Remove the bolt that fastens the regulator to the window. Remove the 3 bolts that hold the regulator assembly to the door. Squeeze the entire assembly through the largest hole and replace with a new assembly in reverse order.
Disconnect negative cable at battery. Remove the inside door trim panel, remove film watershield, remove the door window glass assembly by lowering the window all the way, remove inside door handle and rods, unplug electrical mirror and regulator wires, remove the glass stabilizer bolt, then the 2 window glass retainer bolts, lift out the window glass, then remove the 4 regulator assembly bolts and wiggle the regulator out thru the opening. Reassemble in reverse order. Buy a Haynes Repair Manual for about $15 and save yourself some anguish! YFC
Remove the window regulator and motor from the door as an assembly. Drill out rivets that hold motor to regulator and replace motor. Regulator needs to be riveted back into door for reassembly
You will have to remove the door panel and replace the regulator assembly. In some cases it comes as an assembly with the motor.
Unfortunatley they no longer come off track. You window regulator has probably broken. you'll have to remove the door panel and replace the regulator assembly.
To remove the rear window regulator on a 1994 town car, remove the screws under the arm rest. Take off the rubber insulation and unplug the speaker wires to get it our of the way. Finally, remove the window regulator.Ê
Begin by removing the inside door panel. Remove the wiring harness from the electric window regulator. Remove the window regulator retaining screws.
You must remove the door panel (careful there are hidden screws near the arm rest). Then you must pull or push the window all the way up, and secure it with duct tape in the up position. Then remove the clamps secured to the botton of window. Then remove all the bolts holding window regulator assembly to door framing. Then you must carefully rotate the assmebly until it is in position of largest opening in door frame and remove. Then to place new regulator assembly in door framing the opposite of how you removed the old one. Make sure to loosen the clamps prior to placing the regulator assembly into the door (it might be wise to place something into the clamps to keep them open).
